I would like to thank all of the parents who came out for our 2010 Parents’ Weekend! It was a fun weekend for everyone. We were fortunate enough to have a gorgeous and sunny Saturday for the events we planned.  Check out some photos from the events here. Special thanks to brothers Chris Bello and Luke Ackerknecht for organizing the weekend.  Congratulations to all the winners of the Horton Scholarships that were given out this weekend by our generous alumni. These Horton Scholarships dole out $15,000 per year to undergraduate brothers seeking financial assistance. I hope to see all the parents back for next year’s Parent’s Weekend!

Thumpty will also be holding its final concert of the semester this Saturday when we will be featuring electro “dance-rockers” The Indobox. We have been fortunate enough to host performances by El Ten Eleven, The Breakfast, Orchard Lounge, Big Gigantic, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, and Vibesquad just this semester. Come out one final night to party it up at Thumpty before final exams.  Tickets are $5 with a Cornell ID and $10 without.  Doors will open at 10pm.  Hope to see you all there!

This April, Thumpty raised over $500 to benefit Ithaca’s own Suicide Prevention and Crisis Service through our philanthropy concert featuring the California instrumental duo El Ten Eleven.  We were also lucky enough to have initiated another large new pledge class that I am confident will lead this house in the coming years. It’s been a great semester and we are all looking forward to another lively semester at Thumpty Nation next fall.  Until then, good luck on finals and have a great summer!
